Specialized Treatment of
Trauma & Dissociative Disorders
Over the course of my post graduate studies I became dismayed by the degree to which trauma and dissociation (especially developmental trauma) went unrecognized and under-treated, or ineffectively treated, in many clinical settings. Therapists just did not have the training to recognize or work with people on the problems they brought to therapy.
I view managing overwhelming thoughts, feelings and experiences as a critical piece of healing work. Therefore, I sought out additional trainings in a number of specialized techniques that are effective at treating symptoms of trauma, as well as seeking training through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, and completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Sheppard Pratt Trauma Disorders Program in Towson, Maryland.
