Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS)

Low Energy Neurofeedback System or LENS is an FDA approved neurofeedback system that applies a small electrical impulse, much smaller than the dose you receive when you use your cellphone, directly to the scalp in order to help the brain regulate itself.

LENS has been found by clinicians to be helpful in the treatment of ADD/ADHD, Depression, Anxiety/OCD, PTSD/Trauma, Traumatic brain injury and concussion.

Some of the benefits of LENS include increased and improved quality of relaxation, decreased anxiety, improved attention, improved concentration and decreased distractibility, increased energy and decreased fatigue, improved mood and decreased feelings of hopelessness, lifestyle changes may feel less challenging to accomplish.

LENS is easy! Sessions are shorter than most traditional talk therapy sessions, the results are rapid and often seen in the first several sessions, the process is effortless and there is no homework and nothing to practice. Those who are interested in a drug free approach to making lasting change may find this method especially appealing.

How Does LENS Help?*

In the early 1990's, Len Ochs, Ph.D. developed the "Low Energy Neurofeedback System" (LENS) as a drug-free method to enhance the flexibility and functioning of the brain. The LENS treatment will help provide your brain with the opportunity to have an experience that is different than what it is used to doing automatically, and therefore provides you a chance to experience life differently.

"LENS is like a reset button that unlocks the brain for optimum functioning. Neuroscientists believe that the brain's defenses against stressors and trauma create neural gridlock. The Low Energy Neurofeedback System works around these blockages addressing the brain in its own electromagnetic language. LENS allows the brain to 'reboot,' restoring optimal functioning."

I worked with Dr. Fine during a time in my life when I was very fragile – both medically and emotionally. I had suffered three consecutive concussions and was at the height of my symptoms and emotionally distraught when I first started working with her. I can’t say enough about how wonderful she is as a clinician and as a person. She was always incredibly supportive, compassionate and kind. As a clinician she was always very creative and thorough in her interventions. She used self hypnosis and imagery to manage my pain, biofeedback, neuro feedback and many other modalities to help me. She even created hypnosis tapes especially for me that I can listen to at home. She was in constant communication with my other providers, doctors etc., to make sure everyone was on the same page. She always ensured she was up-to-date on any medical or emotional issues to ensure that her approach was the most effective. Dr. Fine was a cornerstone of my recovery and I feel very blessed to have had her to work with during such a traumatic time.
With much thanks and gratitude
